Back to School! Distracted Driver legislation is in place and active in Alberta.
More teen stats - always more stats.
Well, let's start with stats about teen drivers. First up is an article called, Graduated licence benefits younger teens. It presents an interesting conclusion about collision stats among under 18 and 18-19 year old drivers.
A link from the article above leads to this JAMA article, Graduated Driver Licensing and Fatal Crashes Involving 16- to 19-Year-Old Drivers. The conclusion supports the study outcome of the first article.
Back to distracted driving. The legislation came into force on September 1st, 2011. Over the labour day weekend, the RCMP laid 29 distracted driving charges, among other charges. See this link for more from CTV.
What is it - do people just not care - or do they consider themselves "important people" and so the rules do not apply? After all, it is inconvenient.
Here is a 22 year old who killed a man due to distracted driving, Distracted-driving charge laid in connection with fatal crash.
He killed a person. He is still alive and well. What justice?
This blog entry was started September 6 and unfortunately missed for a while. So it is updated and published today.
Good driving!...Pay attention behind the wheel...
Cheers - Mike
